The CCM One-Piece Boot first debuted in 2016 on the Super Tacks Skate. This groundbreaking, patented skate construction process took five years of scientific research with help in part from Adidas and the University of Calgary. Five years later, the technology has continued to evolve to make CCM one of the best in the skate game today.
Unlike the traditional skate building process that combines the quarter package to an outsole with glue and nails, the One-Piece Boot essentially builds the quarter package and outsole into a single structure.
Since 2016, CCM has made tremendous forward progress on continuing to evolve and improve on their one-piece skates but at its core, the one-piece has strategic advantages over traditional two-piece boots.
The one-piece boot eliminates the external outsole that attaches to the quarter package with glue and nails. For CCM, this meant their skates would have less material between the bottom of a player's foot and the ice. Energy flows more efficiently from the foot and into the ice. More simply put, players experience faster starts and better acceleration on the ice.
The second benefit to eliminating the outsole is weight reduction. Today's hockey has evolved into such a fast-paced game where every inch and every gram counts. Even including two-piece skates, the skate category as a whole has come so far that shedding weight has plateaued to a degree, so the fact CCM was able to save a considerable amount of weight is another big win.
The first thing a player notices when trying on a pair of CCM one-piece skates for the first time is the fit and feel. Traditional two-piece skates have a flat outsole that connects to a quarter package, while a one-piece boot and it's integrated outsole more naturally wraps around the bottom of the foot. After a player has baked their one-piece skate, they experience a 360-degree custom fit since the entire skate, including the bottom now, will adapt to a player's unique foot shape instead of just the sides as in the past. Any player that has tried to break in a boot that didn't properly fit them can painfully explain how excruciating of a process that can be. The one-piece boot has the feel and comfort of a custom skate without the price tag of a custom skate.

Another benefit of the anatomical wrap around the entire foot is the sensation that the skate is a natural extension of the body. A quick analogy is to compare the fit of a compression shirt to 100% cotton t-shirt; the close-to-the-body compression shirt feels like a natural extension of yourself, unlike the t-shirt that you notice as you shift or move.
Currently, CCM offers one-piece boots in all three lines, including the RibCor, JetSpeed and Super Tacks. Also, the new 2021 CCM JetSpeed Skate Line features one-piece boots in ALL four price points, making them much more accessible for players shopping for performance-level skates.
All of these skates also qualify for CCM's 90-Day Satisfaction Guarantee. If you aren't completely satisfied with your skates, you can return them for a full refund no matter how much you have used or sharpened them!
The CCM RibCor Skate Line was engineered for the player that thrives on aggressive edge work, changes in direction and lightning-quick starts. Its unique design allows for the maximum range of motion that players need for these technical movements.
The CCM JetSpeed Skate Line was designed for the players looking for all-around speed and versatility. These players utilize high-speed crossovers, accelerating strides and a featherlight construction for the fastest JetSpeed Line to date.
The CCM Super Tacks Skate Line is built for one thing, pure power. These are the stiffest boots CCM offer which maximizes energy transfer through each and every stride. These also feature a slightly taller boot cut, which also helps to generate maximum force.
2021 is another exciting year for CCM Hockey, especially with their new 3D Fit System. Starting with the CCM JetSpeed FT4 Pro Skate Line, they are introducing three 3D fits; Tapered - Low Profile, Regular - Mid Profile and Wide - High Profile.
This means that no matter your foot shape, you can shop by your skating stride and style of play knowing one of these three fits will fit your foot. Learn more about the CCM 3D Skate Fit System below.
